How do "Safe Networks" work?
Wearlo allows you to designate specific WiFi networks (such as your home network) as Safe Networks. When your computer is connected to one of these networks, the proximity auto-lock feature is completely bypassed—your computer will stay unlocked even if you walk away or your watch disconnects. Note for Mac users: Due to macOS security requirements, you must grant Wearlo "Location Services" permissions for this feature to work.
What is the Lock Delay setting?
The Lock Delay gives you a customizable grace period (between 0 and 60 seconds, defaulting to 3 seconds) before your computer locks when you walk away. If your watch drops below the signal threshold or disconnects, Wearlo starts this countdown. If your watch reconnects or comes back into range before the timer expires, the lock is canceled. This prevents accidental locking caused by brief Bluetooth signal dips.
What is Wake Distance and how does it work?
Wake Distance controls how close you need to be for the computer's screen to automatically turn on as you approach. When your computer is asleep and your watch crosses into this radius, Wearlo automatically wakes the display (e.g. activating the Windows Hello camera or Mac login screen) so it's ready for you to unlock.
What happens if the watch battery dies or disconnects?
By default, if the Bluetooth link drops entirely (e.g., your watch dies or restarts), your computer will not automatically lock. However, you can enable the "Lock on Disconnect" setting in the app. If enabled, your computer will lock itself the moment the watch connection is lost. Wearlo will never trigger an auto-lock on a fresh launch unless the watch has successfully connected at least once during that session.
Can the desktop app pair with multiple watches?
No. The Wearlo desktop app's secure storage system is designed to retain the cryptographic pairing credentials for exactly one watch at a time. If you pair a new watch, it will securely overwrite the previous watch's data. However, a single watch can be paired to multiple different computers, as the watch stores a unique Identifier for each computer it pairs with.

Why isn't my PC waking up when I walk up to it?
When your PC idles, Windows power management may suspend background apps and power down the Bluetooth adapter. If Bluetooth is suspended, the PC cannot detect your watch. To fix this, Wearlo includes a "Keep Awake Service". You can configure this slider in Settings (e.g. for 15 minutes) to keep the CPU and Bluetooth radio alive after locking, while still allowing your screens to power off normally to save energy.
My PC locked while I was sitting right in front of it. How do I fix this?
If your body or hand blocks the watch's direct line of sight to the PC, the Bluetooth signal strength can drop significantly. Wearlo has a built-in "Obstruction Guard" (defaulting to 3 seconds) that provides a grace period for temporary blockages. You can increase this delay in Settings.
What do the Advanced Proximity (Power User) settings do?
Wearlo for Windows includes advanced sliders to precisely tune the distance algorithm. You can manually adjust the baseline 1-meter signal calibration (TxPower) if your watch consistently reads too close or too far. You can also adjust the Environmental Signal Falloff to account for reflective rooms (like metal desks) or dense obstacles (like large monitors), and tweak the Body Obstruction Filter to ignore weak readings.
